Meet Calli Freedman, DVM
Dr. Calli Freedman graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2022. Though born and raised in Ottawa, the mountains were calling her name and she has been living and working in British Columbia ever since. Upon her homecoming, she joined the team at Queensway West Animal Hospital and could not be happier to be back home.
Dr. Calli has experience caring for a diverse range of species, with a special interest in small mammal and reptile pet medicine. She is looking forward to becoming a part of your family’s health care team and working with you to achieve tailored care plans for all of your furry and scaly companions.
Dr. Calli strives to be an environmental steward and to espouse sustainable practices in all that she does. A strong advocate for climate and social justice, she was even recognized by the World Wildlife Fund as a “Living Planet Leader” for her contributions towards sustainability and outreach on the University of Guelph campus. Her passion for wildlife medicine and conservation initially drew her to study Zoology at the University of Guelph and, after earning her Bachelor of Science, to continue her education and earn her Master of Science in Biology with a focus in Animal Physiology.
Outside of work, Calli prefers to be outdoors appreciating the astounding beauty of the natural world! She can also be found hunting for new additions to her classic rock vinyl collection or spending quality time with her partner and two adorable feline companions, Theodore and Fitzgerald.
