A microchip is a small device, about the size of a grain of rice, which can be inserted under your pets skin, generally between the shoulders. If your pet is lost and is brought to a shelter or a veterinary clinic, a special scanner can be used to retrieve a unique number from your pets microchip. This number allows us to find your pets owner through a database. The chips cause no discomfort, cannot fall off or be taken off (like a collar) and can always be reliably read (unlike a tattoo). They require no anesthesia or special preparation to insert. Please ask us if you are interested in finding out more.
